Single trip policies are ideal for those taking one holiday or trip, they can cover trips for a maximum period from 31 days under silver plus cover and up to a maximum of 183 days under gold plus and platinum plus cover.

There are three different levels of cover available under the single-trip type; silver plus, gold plus and platinum plus. Please note that if you have any kind of previous medical condition then silver plus cover will not be available to you. The cost of each of these is different, reflecting the level of cover they provide, with silver plus cover providing the lowest cost.

Children can be included within the policy when you travel on the same trip as a family. A family means up to two adults and any number of their children, step children or foster children aged under 18 or 23 if in full time education, accompanying the parents or legal guardian insured on the same policy traveling on any trip to the same destination.

The single trip policy covers a wide range of sports and activities as standard, ranging from archery to zorbing, and many more in between. (see list of activities covered). It also covers a number of winter sports in addition to these provided that winter sports cover is purchased. Professional sports are not covered. Personal liability is not covered for every sport.

Medical expenses, baggage and personal liability are included as standard with all cover levels, along with a range of additional cover items. You have the option to delete personal possessions cover but think carefully about doing that unless you are already insured elsewhere.

You can extend silver plus cover to include winter sports or independent traveler cover. You can also delete cancellation and curtailment cover if you wish under the silver plus policy.

Under gold plus and platinum plus you can add winter sports cover, cruise cover, business cover, golf cover, wedding cover and independent traveler cover. You can also increase the sums insured under cancellation and curtailment cover. Under both gold plus and platinum plus cover you have the option to reduce the excess.

Under platinum plus cover you have the added option to increase personal possession cover.

Please note your travel insurance does not cover you for one way journeys. They are designed to cover return trips back to the UK. A trip is defined as any holiday or business or pleasure trip or journey made by you within the area of travel shown in the schedule which begins and ends in the United Kingdom during the period of insurance.

The maximum travel age under silver plus cover is 54 and the maximum age under gold plus and platinum plus for a single trip policy is 85.
